What is a capsule slip ring?

A capsule slip ring we also called miniature slip ring, it’s a device used to transmit electrical signals and power across a rotating interface. It is commonly used in applications where continuous rotation is required while maintaining electrical connectivity between stationary and rotating parts. Inside the capsule slip rings, there are conductive rings or channels on both the stator and rotor sides. The rings on the stator are stationary, while the rings on the rotor rotate with the rotating component. Each ring is connected to an electrical circuit or channel. Electrical brushes or contacts are used to establish contact with the rings, allowing the transmission of electrical signals and power.

Capsule slip rings are normally use to transmit of various signals and power, such as electrical currents, analog or digital signals, Ethernet, USB, or other data protocols, across a rotating interface. It finds applications in a wide range of industries, including robotics, aerospace, wind turbines, surveillance systems, medical equipment, and many more.
